Upcoming: LUMEN printing workshop with artist Yev Kazannik
(workshop language: english)
HANDFUL stands for creativity, tactility and a conscious process - usually focussing on clay. Once in a while we open the doors to related creative fields to expand our way of thinking and to find new inspiration to inform the creative process.
This time HANDFUL collaborates with artist Yev Kazannik. Yev is a visual artist with a focus on analogue printing techniques and synthesized sound. After studying photography at the London College of Communication (University of the Arts London), he spent over fifteen years as a commercial photographer, contributing to publications such as The Guardian, Financial Times, Wire, NME, Wax Poetics, Shook and XLR8R.
He moved away from working with traditional camera techniques in 2019 and started developing a new analogue process instrumenting Photogram, Lumen Printing and Chemigrams among others. Yev’s work, which often investigates themes of time, light, human mind and perception, invites viewers to engage with the subtleties of visual and auditory experience.
Yev's work has been exhibited internationally and included in both private and museum collections.
Yev Kazannik is also the co-founder of Green Lens Studios. As part of this collaboration Yev is offering his wonderful LUMEN printing workshop in March at the HANDFUL studio in Berlin, while I will be offering my Clay Meditation at the Green Lens Studios in London in April.
