Write an Email to inquire a training for next month to love@handfulceramics.com. This is a one month intensive wheel-throwing training, in either english or german. Learn, practice and master the art of pottery on the throwing wheel. You will get guidance by experienced and educated ceramic artist, Anke Buchmann and access to the throwing wheel on 3 days a week, to train up to 70hrs / month. Practice creates masters. To become great at throwing it takes knowledge and lots of experience. That is why this training is split in two parts: professional teaching and personal practice time. You will learn: - how to prepare your clay - to center up to 2kg of clay - to open up and throw an equally thin wall - to pull up a cylinder - to shape and design up to every tiny detail - to trimm your dried vessels - to glaze your fired work What you get: - up to 70 hrs of individual practice time - 4 hrs of teaching (if more teaching is needed, it can be arrange on demand) - access to the studio, the throwing wheel, the materials - recycled clay to practice* - access to firing service - apron to use in the studio * All the pieces, that you wish to keep can be glazed and fired for an extra cost of 20€/kg, including clay, glaze and 2 firings. Who is it for: This training is for enthusiastic students, with or without experience. You already took a starter or introduction course on the potters wheel anytime in your life? And now you wish to dive deeper and master your craft to be able to throw the shapes and sizes you aim for? Then this training is for you. Now you get the chance to improve your skills and grow on the wheel due to lots of practice time. You know what throwing on the potters wheel means and are fascinated by the idea to properly learn the craft? All you need is guidance, access to a potters wheel and the opportunity to practice. Welcome to the intensive training. If you feel like more than 4hrs of teaching we can top-up the professional teaching part for an additional costs. About your teacher: Anke Buchmann is an award-winning ceramic artist and designer and founder of HANDFUL. Anke started working with clay in the age of 6 years. She later studied Ceramics in London at the Art University Central Saint Martins. Anke learned to throw on the potters wheel from potter and author Joachim Jung - one of the last german potters, that know how to throw very big pots. Today Anke runs her own atelier and showroom in Sredzkistr. 46, 10435 Berlin.
